Kevin Winden
For twenty-five years Kevin
Winden has been helping healthcare organizations and healthcare
software vendors meet the information system needs of this
highly regulated industry.

Kevin's experience in
building and deploying long-term care information systems while at CARE Computer Systems and at Shared Healthcare Systems uniquely qualifies him to assist both long-term care
facilities and long-term care software vendors achieve success
using and developing their information systems.

Kevin has been involved with all phases of the
operation of long-term care software companies over the years. His focus at SHS was in product
development where he utilized the principles of goal-oriented design as
outlined by the industry experts at Cooper Interaction Design to design
world-class financial and clinical systems.
Most recently Kevin has turned his attention to
providing support for users of the ChartWare Electronic Medical
Record system. When asked why he chose to work with ChartWare,
he said, "There are three main things about the ChartWare system
that really stand out for me. The first is the flexibility. Over the
past twenty-five years I have used, designed and developed what we in the software industry commonly refer to as user-defined systems. No other such system I have used comes near approaching the flexibility that ChartWare affords. It allows you to put your words, your forms, your way of working and communicating on the screen so that it becomes instantly recognizable as what you need to document your patient events."
"Secondly, ChartWare is just so easy to use. A
lot of systems require a lot of typing and navigation and require
quite a bit of training before a user can become proficient on the
system. ChartWare is so intuitive and easy to use that one can
begin to effectively use the system within minutes and can become an
expert user almost overnight. For someone who has spent a
considerable amount of my career studying software design and
developing systems with the end-user experience in mind, the
ChartWare system has literally been a joy to work with."
"Lastly, I must say, is the completeness of the
product. ChartWare is designed to be an electronic medical
record system and they have done that very well. Its ability
to integrate seamlessly with billing, scheduling and lab systems and
allow the linking of images and other types of multimedia files and
documents results in everything just being there a mouse click
away. Being able to access all of a patient's medical record
information securely from virtually anywhere in the world over the
Internet is an extremely compelling argument for deploying and fully
utilizing an electronic medical record product. And the result of
that has just got to be an increase in efficiency and
productivity. When I first saw ChartWare I realized that this
was a mature product, designed by end-users for end-users. And
over the course of my three years of working with the product, I
have seen it just get better and better."
