Note1: The term EMR, Electronic Medical Record, is synonomous with the terms CPR, Computer-based Patient Record and EHR, Electronic Health Record, although they do not necessarily mean the same thing as this technology has evolved significantly over the past few years.

Note2: LTC or Long-term Care information systems are used primarily in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), but often contain features that are widely applicable in Assisted Living Facilities (ALF), senior residential care settings, Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) and sub-acute care centers.

Note3: The term CPOE, Computerized Prescriber Order Entry, also more commonly known as Computerized Physician Order Entry refers to systems that focus primarily on electronic prescription writing systems used by doctors.  This type of application may be an embedded component of a larger EMR system or may be a standalone system integrated  with another system.

Support for Legacy Systems

The K2HealthTech team is also familiar with products that are currently in widespread use in the field, but may no longer be actively marketed.  Some of these information system products include the character-based (DOS) Add+On Health Systems long-term care information systems from Accu-Med, ResTrack from Shared Healthcare Systems and the character-based (DOS) CARE Computer Systems' VistaCARE long-term care information systems.

On February 9, 2005, Keane Care announced the scheduled end of support for the VistaKeane DOS product formerly known as VistaCARE.
